JR East Shonan-Shinjuku Line

The Shonan-Shinjuku Line and the Yokosuka Line share the same tracks between Yokohama and Ofuna Stations.  They are separate lines, but use the same type of trains.  Shonan-Shinjuku Line also sometimes uses Tokaido Line trains.  You need to be careful when taking these lines to make sure you’re on the correct train to the correct destination.  Here are the stations:

  • Ofuna Station (Kamakura City, Kanagawa) – visited
  • Totsuka Station (Totsuka-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa) – visited
  • Higashi-Totsuka Station (Totsuka-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa) – visited
  • Hodogaya Station (Hodogaya-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa)
  • Yokohama Station (Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa)
  • Shin-Kawasaki Station (Saiwai-ku, Kawasaki, Kanagawa)
  • Musashi-Kosugi Station (Nakahara-ku, Kawasaki, Kanagawa)
  • Nishi-Oi Station (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo)
  • Osaki Station (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo)
  • Ebisu Station (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo)
  • Shibuya Station (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo)
  • Shinjuku Station (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo)
  • Ikebukuro Station (Toshima-ku, Tokyo)
  • Akabane Station (Kita-ku, Tokyo)
  • Omiya Station (Omiya-ku, Saitama, Saitama)

This line is very convenient to go to Shibuya, Shinjuku or Ikebukuro from Yokohama and Kamakura.
