2012 Picture of the Week (29/52) – Fruit stand

Many times of the year, you can see fruit stands selling locally grown seasonal fruit.  This one is near Futamatagawa station, and has been there for the past week.  I didn’t get a good look at it, but I believe one of the fruits they sell there is Japanese pears, or nashi.

Fresh fruit is great!

2012 Picture of the Week (19/52) – Spring sunset

Today was a beautiful sunny day in Yokohama, and I took this picture as I was leaving work. The sun is setting farther north on the horizon as summer quickly approaches. I thought the colour came out quite well on this photo. No filters as always!

The Tanzawa Mountains are on the left in this sunset picture from Yokohama.

2012 Picture of the Week (11/52) – Ume Blossoms

Japanese plum trees, or ume, usually start blooming around the end of February. But this year, they’re late. I had a little time yesterday before work, so I went to Kodomo Shizen Koen (park) in Makigahara, and I found this tree blooming. Cherry trees should be blooming in a couple weeks. Spring is coming!

2012 Picture of the Week (10/52) – Cloudy Skies

Lately, it’s been pretty dreary outside. Mostly cloudy days and rain. Even though spring is coming, winter temperatures remain. The cherry trees are expected to bloom late this year due to the cold winter. Hopefully, it’ll be a beautiful spring.

The Tanzawa Mountains are barely visible from Futamatagawa.
