Instagram 1-10

This is the first set of Instagram pictures I’ll be posting.  Each week, I’ll post 10 photos, starting with my oldest ones.  These ones are from May 24th-25th, 2011.  What I’d like you to do is leave a comment stating which photo you like the most and which you like the least, and please give a reason.  Thanks!

    #9 gets my vote for best of the bunch because of the framing, the lines, and the contrast. #8 is close and also has good framing in the lower half, but I think it would have been better if you centered it a bit lower on the escalator and avoided some of the visual clutter above (put your hand over the upper half, parallel with that horizontal white brace above the person’s head, and it’s easier to see what I mean.)

    For least favorite I would actually go with #2 because it’s a pretty generic shot and there is a lot of clutter disrupting the visual flow of the picture. There are wires in the way, the sign in the foreground unintentionally draws your focus but is disrupted by the signal pole, etc. I always find medium-depth city shots challenging for this same reason, so I’ve basically given up on trying to take them and stick with distant shots or tight zooms on individual buildings, or parts thereof.
