2012 Picture of the Week (1/52) – Wakamiya Oji

Welcome back to the Picture of the Week!  I’m going to try get a full 52 pictures done with my iPhone this year and post them weekly.  These will be completely unedited, unfiltered photos.  Some will also be available on Instagram in filtered form.

This week, we went to Kamakura and visited 3 shrines and a temple. This picture was taken on Wakamiya Oji, going toward Tsurugaoka Hachimangu.

  1. good luck with the endeavour. i would love to have the discipline to stick to something like this on a weekly basis but i fear that i don’t. also, i like how you have opted for the raw photo rather than a filtered instagram piccie.

the site “bad photo+vintage filter+helvetica” evidences that a bad photo can be made profound with a filter (and some helvetica). 🙂

    “Pick a bad photo
    Apply a vintage filter
    Write something in Helvetica”

    • I’ve already done this before with a successful 52 consecutive weeks of pictures. It’s actually not very hard to do 🙂 I’ll leave the filters to Instagram. I’ll be posting those pictures, too 🙂

I’ll have to check out that site.

  2. I gotta keep doing ab work for the next 52 weeks and I’ll be happy!
Good luck with the pic project. Having a decent camera in the phone makes it much more doable I imagine 🙂

    • I’m pretty happy with the camera on the iPhone 4, but I wasn’t so happy with the iPhone 3GS camera. My previous Picture of the Week was done with my 3GS 🙂 These should be much better.
