Bon-odori dance in Sugita

While I was at work, there was a Bon-odori dance happening in Plala.  Luckily, I had my camera, and just caught the end of the dance.  Sorry it’s not very long.  This was the very end of the dancing.

It’s the O-bon season right now when many people go on holiday to see their family and pay their respects to their ancestors.

  1. Cool video. Not sure if it is the angle or distance, but they look like toy people dancing🙂

    • Thanks. I took the video from my classroom, which overlooks the central plaza of a shopping centre. My classroom is on the 3rd floor.

This weekend, there’ll be a festival in the same location. It’ll include taiko drums and a brass band, among many other things. Unfortunately, it’ll be so loud that I’ll have to teach my lessons in another room.
