This is the time of year that the sound of summer fills the air, cicadas. But where are they? I haven’t heard any. It’s eerily quiet.
So, why are they late? Could it have something to do with the unusually cool weekend we had? It was hot enough last week to bring them out, but nothing. I think it has to do with the cooler than normal spring and rainy season.
Hopefully, they’ll be out soon and we can hear their constant noisy song. I kind of miss them.
Must be it.
I wish we had!
We didn’t have a cool weekend at all!
The cicadas are safe and sound all over the place.
You’ve got the noisy cicadas now? Are the frogs still noisy?
*takes her earphones out* Yes, the frogs are still at it, but not as loud as a few weeks ago!
I guess they’ll be around for another month or so.
The cicadas I can’t hear at night, but during the day when the frogs are quiet. Luckily thus far there aren’t that many, so the noise is really nice and relaxing. I hope it’ll stay like that! ^-^;
That’s good. Just hope you don’t get a cicada that wakes you up too early by sitting on your window
Ours started this week – I’m sure you will be regretting asking to hear them again in no time…
I won’t regret it. I like hearing them
I can actually sleep through their singing.
One of the sounds of summer and must be kind of strange not to hear them at all at this time of the year
It is. Still no cicadas. I hope to hear them within the next couple days.
I’ve been hearing the sound of セミ (cicada) here in Tokyo for the past few days now.
Really? I haven’t heard one yet. None in Fujisawa, none in Yokohama, none in Machida.
