What is an advanced society?

Over on my writing/book blog, I Read Encyclopedias for Fun, I wrote about advanced societies using Japan and Canada as examples.  I made a few comments about how I felt neither one is advanced or mature.  Go on over and read about it!

    I consider America to be a more “advanced” society than anywhere else. All things weighed and considered I still believe that.

      I think the government is seriously flawed, though. Also, lowest life expectancy of any developed country, highest rate of obesity. Health-wise, America is worse than the other developed nations. Technologically, probably the best. Too bad today’s generation seems to be uninterested in the science that created the technology.
