Christmas is an interesting thing in Japan. Decorations are everywhere, people buy gifts to give to family, and people eat KFC on Christmas. But it’s not a holiday, it’s just a western import. However, people do get in the Christmas mood. Here are 3 pictures. The first one is in Shonandai Station in Fujisawa. The other 2 are in Landmark Plaza in Minato Mirai. Enjoy!

In the very upscale Landmark Plaza shopping centre in Minato Mirai, you can see this crystal Christmas tree.

Here's another view of the Landmark Plaza Christmas tree. I really like this view of the shopping centre.
This is my entry into this week’s “Show Me Japan.”

I’m always amazed that for a country that doesn’t even consider xmas an official holiday, Japan sure gets into the spirit, in a big way, too.
Yeah, although I think Christmas in Japan is just another way to sell things. It’s become that way in Canada, too.
I am a big fan of light up and Christmas illumination!! That looks great.
You are right, Christmas is an import, however, we have national holiday on Dec 23. Thanks to current Emperor Akihito! I heard from somebody that when Akihito was little, his private teacher is an American old lady who is Christian…
Thanks for participating in “Show Me Japan” and sharing a nice photos.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I always enjoy participating
I’m afraid I can’t participate in the next one, since I’ll be out of the country.
