Today, I went out for a long walk around the Totsuka Station area in Totsuka Ward, Yokohama. This time of year, many people in Japan go out with their families or co-workers to enjoy Hanami, or cherry viewing party. Near Totsuka Station, Kashiogawa (Kashio River) has many blooming cherry trees and a lot of people enjoying them. Both sides of the river have cherry trees and a park. Enjoy the pictures!

The cherry trees are blooming along Kashiogawa.

The path above Kashiogawa is lined with cherry trees.

Cherry blossoms make it feel like spring in Japan.

Many people are having fun down by the river.

Any time the cherry trees bloom in Japan, the food vendors come out for people enjoying hanami.

This picture was taken from the appropriately named Sakura Bridge.
Where was I? Take a look at this map.

Ahh, the cherry blossoms will bloom here next week sometime. I’m looking forward to it.
Enjoy them while they last!
They’re still around, but I know they’ll slowly drop off the trees over the next week or so. But after that, everything becomes very green. I love how green everything gets in Japan in spring.
